Independence!

Kaiden wanted to be a big boy and get himself some more salad. Jon was cleaning up dinner and I was in the other room. When Jon looked over this is what Kaiden's salad looked like. The orange thing is his bowl.

Gingerbread House

We decided to make a gingerbread house this year. We just bought a kit where the gingerbread was already made. And let me just say it wasn't easy. This was my first house and also Kaiden's. When I asked Kaiden if he wanted to make a gingerbread house he said, "No." Then I showed him a picture from a store insert and he was all into then. He saw the candy and he was in. He tried eating it the whole time and still to this day needs to be watched when he is around the 2 week old icing and candy. Well, anyway, here is the final product.

Crayola Factory

My friend Katie and I took our boys to the Crayola Factory on December 1st. It was more fun then I remembered it being when I was here years ago. Kaiden and Daegn had a blast! There were many things for them to do and create. I especially LOVE the Crayola Store. I has everything imaginable for Crayola. I could've walked around there(without Kaiden) for hours. This was canal museum that was included with the ticket. The boys loved making their boats go through the different areas and pick up coal.
Making a giant sandwich:

The balls went up a thing, then through a tunnel and then down this thing.

Kaiden liked drawing on the glass with markers.

Halloween

I realized I never posted Halloween photos. Kaiden was a red Power Ranger. He said he wants to be this again next year. Even if he stuck with that idea we wouldn't even save money because he put a big rip in this costume. He really thought he was a Power Ranger.

Thanksgiving!

I know, Thanksgiving is long over but I said I would update so if you're interested then this is for you.

We went to the Yorgey's first. That's where these pictures are taken. Then we went to my mom's, where I forgot to take pictures. Oh and he made that shirt at school and LOVED it so he just had to wear it on Thanksgiving.

Kaiden with his cousin, Leanda. Kaiden was helping to decorate the cake celebrating his great nana's 80th birthday.

His favorite soccer game that he LOVED playing with his Oma.

Slacker!

I know, I know, I have been slacking on my blog. There are many things I have been meaning to put on here and I've just been so busy that I haven't had the time to upload the pics and such. I will make time in the next couple of days to do just that as my camera is probably running out of memory.

Stay Tuned!!!!

"Welcome to the Jungle"

We had some errands ot run today and were on our way to Target. In the back of the car, out of nowhere, our son starts to sing "Welcome to the Jungle" He only knew that line, from where I don't know....I don't recall listening to Gun's N Roses anytime recently, but anyway, we decided he needed to know a few more lines. We taught him, "We got fun n games, We got eberything you want." Well, he thought that was great and just kept singing it over and over. So we're in Target and he kept singing it loud enough so that those close by could hear. Everyone just kept laughing at him which only made him sing more. Well, we were amused by it as well.

More 4 year old pics!

Fake Laugh

Kaiden's Uncle Dave is probably one of his most favorite people. Mostly because he is pretty much a big kid and makes Kaiden laugh constantly. One night Kaiden played throw the sock with his uncle for about an hour and had the best time. Well, recently, my brother and his girlfriend Mel, took Kaiden to dinner followed by a Halloween parade. Kaiden had the best time and came home with some of his uncle's weirdness. Dave taught him how to do the "fake laugh" and here he is doing just that and thinking it's hilarious, which it is, atleast to me and of course his Uncle Dave.

AHHHHHHHHHHH

So, I've been trying to upload a post and some photos for quite some time! I've tried to upload the photos ATLEAST 6 times and every time I am getting an error. SOoooo I guess I'm just going to try again another day. I really did make an effort to update this thing. Well, hopefully I will have better luck tomorrow. GOOD NIGHT!

4 Year Old Pics

I wanted to try and do Kaiden's 4 year old pics myself this year because I finally got my awesome camera. Well, here are a few of the best ones I got. I wanted to get there earlier so the sun wasn't right above us but we ran late so some are a little over exposed.

Some pics!

Here are some pics from the 1st day of school that I never put up. He was SO excited!

Preschool Part II

I thought, while my pics are downloading, I would update about Kaiden in preschool. Well, we put him into his daycare full time and he LOVES it. He wants to go there everyday. He even gets upset some Saturdays because he is not going to school. Which kills me but, I mean, I should be happt he's in a place he loves. He just is such a social child that him being around other kids more often is like living a dream for him.

We are also going to put him into Kindergarten next year and see how he does. I think he'll be fine because he loves to learn and loves being around other kids. I don't see any reason to hold him back a year if he can be successful.

OK, so I've been slacking!

Ok, it's been a crazy, busy couple of weeks and I haven't been able to find time to sit down and blog some of the stuff we've been doing. I'm uploading pics now and trying to get reorganized. I promise to have some stuff up within the next couple days. So stay tuned, I have not forgotten!

Preschool

Ok, so we have decided to put Kaiden into preschool full time in the event he would be ready for Kindergarten next year. We are struggling with whether or not to put him into Kindergarten next year because his birthday is so close to the deadline. His birthday is August 13th and the deadline is probably like September 1st. We don't wanna put him in before he's ready but we also don't want to wait a year if he would have been fine with starting at 5.

So in the event he may be ready next year we have put him into preschool fulltime. We asked him what he wanted to do and he actually wants to be going to school everyday instead of going to his Nannys. He is such a social kid that he just thrives on that time he can spend with other kids. It will be a change for him since he's used to going to Nannys 2 days a week and it will also be a big change for Nanny not to have him there but we are hoping this is the best thing for him.

I guess you never really know, though. You try to do everything right for your kids but every decision has the potential to be the wrong one. So in the end, we have, for the time being, decided on preschool fulltime and to take him to Kindergarten registration next year and see what those teachers think. I mean, I am a teacher but I'm NOT a Kindergarten teacher. If he's ready we'll start him when he's 5. If not, no biggie we'll start him when he's 6. I guess, really there's no for sure way of knowing whether he's ready or not. He's a bright kid, I think, but I'm also biased.

If anyone has any thoughts on the issue, comments would be greatly appreciated. Well, thanks for reading!

Flea Market

So today was the semi-annual flea market at my alma mater, Muhlenberg. I got many things together for this glorious day of getting up at 5:30 to sell all my old crap that I don't want anymore. I brought Kaiden with me because Jon had to help out his dad but thankfully he came right after he was done to rescue Kaiden who was all over the place. He also decided that all of the toys of his I was selling were his new favorite toys. He did tell people to "take what you want". LOL

So anyway, we get there at 6:30 to set up which I thought was pretty good considering it wasn't SUPPOSED to start until 8:00. No sooner had we unloaded the things from the car people were looking through it before it was even set up! I guess that where the saying "the early bird catches the worm" comes from or at the very least that's what these people thought. Don't you think it would be better to see what we have if it was actually set up?

Well, once we got set up it went well for awhile but started to really get slow aroun 12 so we started doing whatever we could to get rid of things. There was still plenty left but I didn't want to bring that crap back to my house so I dropped it ALL off at Goodwill. I wanted a clean slate, to start over!

Now, I am beat and sleepy and ......

New School Year!

So, we have 3 school days into the new school year (only 177 to go till summer) and it is going WAY better than last year. I feel so much less nervous and more confident in my skills as a teacher. Now that I have one year under my belt things just seem to be going smoother all around.

I'm not sure just how my class is going to be yet because they have all been so quiet. Just wait till they come out of their shells.....then I'll know just what kind of class I have. They seem like a nice group though...only one is standing out thus far as one who may challenge my every decision (gotta love those). Now matter what I say he tries to think of a way to get around it.

The last few weeks I've been dreading going back to school but now I feel like I'm back in the swing of things. I actually like going to work and the days go by so fast. Plus we had school 3 days this week and we already have a 4 day weekend. One of the big pros of being a teacher....lots of days off throughout the year to spend with my family!

More Boobies!

Ok, today my mini boob man was laying on me and giving me a hug. I love when he cuddles up with me. Well, his head is on my chest and his hand is around me. Before I know it his hand slowly slides up and completely covers my boob. Which I just think, "Ok, he's doesn't realize where his hand is he is just giving me a hug." I couldn't be more wrong. And how do I know that wasn't was he was doing? He tells me! "Mommy, I am touching your boob!" What the heck! He's obsessed!

Boobies!!!

I stopped getting dressed in front of Kaiden about a year ago when he became obsessed with my boobs. This occured after he asked to touch them one day. He did ask nicely. He said, "Mommy can I please touch your boobs?" To which I promptly replied, "No!" Atleast he asked first and didn't dive right in. Well, after he was denied access to the sisters, he then asked if he couold lay on them, which, normally wouldn't be a problem cause I love my cuddle time with him but the fact that he asked led me to believe he had another motive.

Well, the other day I was getting into the shower (our bathroom doesn't really have doors you can close). I thought my child was downstairs with his father. So I come out of the bedroom ready and headed for the shower. To my surprise, Kaiden was standing at the top of the stairs. Well when he saw my boobs in full light for the first time since he was way little, his face lit up like it was Christmas morning. I couldn't believe just how excited he got, I had to laugh! I quickly covered what I could but the damage was done. He screamed in delight as I ran away back into the bedroom. I guess my son is definitely a boob man and I definitely need to be more careful.

I normally like to include pictures in my blogs entries but I thought I would spare everyone the torture.....lol!

Kaiden's 4th Birthday Party

Kaiden's birthday party was a success. Yesterday we gathered close friends and family for a fun day in the hot sun! To our surprise, it was one of the nicest days I think I've ever lived through in August! Kaiden had a blast. He was swimming, playing with his friends, and running all over the yard. He kept telling everyone that this was the best party ever! He was so excited and loved having everyone over. He especially loved all his monster truck gifts! We are so thankful to have had such a beautiful day and the people we love be able to spend the day with us. Here are a few pics from the festivities!

Here is the cake that I made. Kaiden thought it was the coolest. I thought it was pretty cool myself. I was quite proud.
Here he is trying his hardest to blow out those darn candles. There was a little spraying going on!
He loved opening his gifts. Although when it was clothes they were immediately passed on to me. I loved them though.
Another present opening picture with Jon peeking in the back.

Worst Day

The Reading Fair was this week. On Thursday they were going to have a Monster Truck show. Kaiden loves Monster trucks so I thought with it being his birthday soon we would surprise him by taking him there. So it was all planned, Jon and I, Katie & Deagn, & Kaiden all went to the Reading Fair. Throughout the night there were a series of events that made it quite difficult to have a good time.

1. Got lost on the way there.....that's ok not a big deal....whatever.
2. Locked my keys in the trunk of the car......Katie had AAA so atleast we didn't have to pay but they were supposed to get there right when the show was supposed to start so one of us would have to miss out.
3. Monsoon....it was supposed to rain but we couldn't let it ruin our night but it really poured and thunder and lightning. We of course had to take cover under the lizard stand (where you can actually win one to take home)....as I look up the tent is made entirely of metal which is great when you are stuck in a monsoon.
4. We go to sit down for the show hoping they are still going to have it considering the amount of rain that we just had. Daegn had to go potty and when Kaite came back she was carrying a trash bag which I thought was odd. Then she was like "We gotta go, Deagn just threw up in the Port O' Potty." ewwwww...I won't even pee in those things let alone stick my head in to puke.
5. They make an announcement after we'd been sitting for about 20 minutes. They told us that they were going to try to get the big puddle taken care of and they would start the show.....in 30-45 minutes.....well, we were there already so of course we were going to stay....we were commited.
6. They start the show...we watched one truck....Kaiden was freaking out! He hated them and wanted to leave ASAP! They were too loud. I didn't realize just how loud they'd be. Oh well, you live and learn. He just got one some more rides.
7. On the way home, we got pulled over because JON was speeding. Luckily, they were looking for seatbelts. Click it or Ticket!!
8. Fast forward to 4 a.m. I know, you think the night was over once we got home but NO. Kaiden puked then. And then when he woke up at 7 he had the runs.

The one thing we got to do BEFORE the monsoon. The monsoon:
The rainbow after the monsoon:
Kaiden smiling BEFORE the monster trucks started.
So Kaiden informed me he likes monster trucks but just on T.V.

Dorney Park

Well, another season at Dorney Park is coming to an end. For the past 2 summers, we have gotten season passes to a park around here called Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom. We mostly go to Wildwater due to the water aspect. Kaiden LOVES water and I think he would never go to the other rides if it were up to him. I enjoy the waterpark too! Whenever you get hot it's very easy to cool down.

Here is Kaiden showing off. (He knew I had the camera out!) There's those shades again!
Waterslide!!!!!

This turtle was his favorite part. He would, literally, spend hours there. Just jumping onto it's back and sliding down!

Philly Zoo

On Friday, I took a trip with my friend Katie to the Philadelphia Zoo. Having just purchased the camera that I have been wanting for over 2 years now I was ready to get some great shots. I was so excited to have finally gotten my camera. I couldn't wait to put it to use on our trip to the zoo.

Now, I am very upset because with this post I have tried to upload some pictures to go with it but it seems that for some reason those have decided NOT to load! AHHHHHH!!!!!!

Now I can't share with everyone the wonderful pictures that I took with my brand new camera and I'm getting sick of trying to load them so I will just have to try again tomorrow.

Anyway, we had a great time. Kaiden got to see his favorite animal, the giraffe. He also enjoyed brushing the sheep and goats. I tried to get him to ride the camel but he flat out refused. Oh well, maybe next time!

Wipeout!

Here is a video of Kaiden from the beach getting wiped out with all smiles! I tried to upload with all the others but it did not want to cooperate.

Pics

Here are the promised pics. One of my brother's friends is like a computer expert and fixed my computer. Yay!!!
Here is Kaiden in the ocean.....loving every second! He doesn't go anywhere without his sunglasses....he is very sensitive to the sun.
Yummy ice cream. By the end this ice cream was EVERYWHERE....on his clothes, on his toes, on his shirt, and on the ground.
